About Me

This is my 12th year teaching, and my 10th year teaching in Roman Catholic schools. This is my second year at Bishop Montgomery, where I teach both Theology (Freshmen, Junior, Senior) and Latin (Latin 1) courses.

Philosophy of Education

Currently, I am teaching theology from a historical perspective at Bishop Montgomery High School. But where too often theology and history can be presented as dull and flat, I seek to employ various methods of instruction to accommodate various learning styles. These include art, music, film/television, humor, technology, or pop culture; so that a bridge might be built for the student to see the study of history come to life. Teaching is more than parroting lesson plans, even as learning is more than the regurgitation of information. Through it all, I am continually reviewing, processing, and honing these approaches with the students, so as to facilitate the learning process further. It is my desire to pass my excitement for learning, nurture the student’s critical thinking skills, and help them develop an academic foundation that will ensure success in life.
