Torrance, CA (March 7, 2015): The BMHS boys' basketball team won the prestigious CIF-SS Open Division title tonight with a 56-50 win over Etiwanda at the Honda Center in Anaheim. It was the fifth CIF title under Head Coach Doug Mitchell.
The Knights (30-1) were led by Jordan Schakel '17, who had 19 points, Stephen Thompson '15 who had 13 points, and Ethan Thompson '17, who had nine points.
The Knights will play in the Open Division of the state playoffs beginning next week. The basketball team is ranked 2nd in the state by CalHiSports.com, 11th in the nation by USA Today, and 15th in the nation by MaxPreps.
