Torrance, CA (October 20, 2015): This month Bishop Montgomery was able to participate in an exciting and fun virtual experience. BMHS was accepted to participate in the Google Expeditions Pilot Program. Google sent an Expedition Leader to campus, and 18 classes were led through a virtual field trip experience.
Teachers used the virtual field trips to supplement classroom instruction with an immersive virtual experience. For example, students in AP Literature and Composition took a virtual field trip called “London Literary Tour,” which included 360 degree virtual experiences of the Millennium Bridge, inside and outside of Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, inside and outside of Westminster Abbey, Canterbury Cathedral, 221 B Baker Street, and the inside and outside of Kings Cross Station.
BMHS thanks Google for bringing this exciting new educational experience to students, and for choosing our campus to be one of the first schools in the nation to experience and provide feedback for Google Expeditions.
