Class of 2013 Seniors Plan to Play Collegiately

Torrance, CA (May 22, 2013): The 2012-13 athletic year has been a success in many ways, and it is still not concluded as senior Danielle Shanahan '13 is still competing on the track and the boys' volleyball team is in the state playoffs.

In the fall, five of six teams qualified for the CIF-SS playoffs (football, girls' cross country, girls' tennis, girls' golf, and girls' volleyball) and five BMHS athletes were named league MVP. Girls' tennis won their 7th straight league title, Shanahan went on to capture the first individual CIF-SS title in cross country in school history, and the volleyball team advanced to the CIF semifinals.

In the winter, three of four teams qualified for the playoffs (boys' basketball, boys' soccer, and girls' basketball) and one athlete was named league MVP. The boys' basketball team was nationally ranked, completed the regular season undefeated, and advanced to the SoCal Regional Finals.

This spring, four of nine teams qualified for the playoffs (boys' golf, boys' tennis, boys' volleyball, and girls' track) and three athletes were named league MVP. Boys' golf won a third straight league title, boys' tennis captured their fourth in a row, boys' volleyball advanced to the CIF finals and are still playing, and Shanahan won the CIF Division III title in the 3200m.
