Torrance, CA (May 6, 2013): Some of Bishop Montgomery's spring sports teams begin CIF-SS playoffs this week. Check the BMHS website for updates, locations, and times as the playoffs progress.
Boys' Tennis
The Del Rey League champions (10-5) will open up the Division V playoffs at home on Wednesday, May 8 at 3:00pm vs. San Gorgonio.
Boys' Golf
The Camino Real League champions (17-4) open up the CIF South Coast Division team competition on Monday, May 6 at Talega GC in San Clemente. Three BMHS golfers (Michael Rodriguez '13, Dean Billings '13, and Scott von Kanel '16) also qualified for the CIF Individual playoffs which will be held on Monday, March 13 at Skylinks GC in Long Beach.
UPDATE: Finished 11th out of 19 teams in the CIF-SS South Coast Division finals.
Girls' Track
Several girls' qualified for CIF-SS Division III playoffs in their respective events based on their performances at the Del Rey League finals last week:
- Senior Danielle Shanahan '13 was the Del Rey League champion in both the 1600m (5:07.09) and in the 3200m (11:17.25).
Boys' Volleyball
The boys' volleyball team (19-7) will open up the Division IV playoffs at home on Tuesday, May 7 at 7:00pm vs. Chadwick.

- Junior Angela Francis '14 finished third in the 100m at the Del Rey League finals in a time of 12.97.
- Sophomore Tessa Allen '15 won the Del Rey League title in the high jump (5-00.00)
- The 4x100 relay team of freshman Kate Tokuhara ‘16, senior Hayley Myles ‘13, senior Taylor Loggins ‘13, junior Angela Francis ‘14, and senior Brielle Davis ‘13 (alternate) finished third at the Del Rey League finals in a time of 51.74.
Girls' Division III track & field CIF-SS prelims are on Saturday, May 11 at 12:00 at Estancia HS in Costa Mesa.
