Since starting here at Bishop Montgomery High School in 2009 my goal as an educator is to create knowledgeable, prepared, and skilled students who gain a love and appreciation for the Visual Arts.
I strive to design and present exciting lessons that actively engage my students while educating them on artistic methodologies and various techniques. I provide my students with opportunities to reach their fullest potential through creative expression and perceptive strategies. I offer a range of visual, historical, detailed, and constructive experiences.
In my instruction of the Visual Arts, primarily Ceramics, Advanced Ceramics, Art Design, and Introduction to Art, students gain the knowledge to critically solve problems and are able to successfully communicate and collaborate with their peers. I encourage my students to create original works of art following the guidelines set forth for each project.
My hope is that my students will realize learning is a discovery and uncover their own passion for the Arts.
I have a BA in Liberal Studies with a Concentration in Art from California State University Long Beach. I recieved my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from CalStateTeach. I previously worked at St. Anthony School in Gardena for five years and St. Anthony in El Segundo for seven years.
As the Art Department Chairperson, I work with the Art Department faculty, being their liaison to the administration, and provide support when needed. I facilitate department meetings, and communicate department information and goals to the administration.
