Creating and maintaining a Robotics Club requires financial funding that is too great for our team members to bear responsibility for. We do not want this to be a club for just the financially able, we would like it to be available to all students with skills. We were so involved and dedicated to the robot design and building that there was little time for fundraising. So the students themselves, and myself, funded the program.
We were fortunate to have a robotics kit (~ $1000) donated to our team by Rockwell Collins, which took a lot of the financial pressure off at the beginning. But, we did not have the funds to build a mock setup of the game arena, and this led to a major design flaw for the game day.
Our yearly budget would be approximately $2000, more if we advance through the competiton. I would even like to run 2 teams to open it to even more eager students.
Our Robotics Club is looking towards our community for financial assistance.
If you would like to be a benefactor of our club, please send a cheque to Bishop Montgomery High School (BMHS), and put Robotics Club in the Memo line. We appreciate any assistance that you can provide.
