Five Students to Attend Christian Leadership Institute This Summer

Torrance, CA (June 6, 2013):
 Five Bishop Montgomery students will attend the Christian Leadership Institute August 4-9 at St. Mary's Seminary Retreat Center in Santa Barbara. The institute, coordinated by the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, enables young people to become leaders in parish and high school settings. The goals of the institute are to foster the leadership potential of each student and heighten his/her awareness of the responsibilities of leadership in a high school or parish community and in the larger Christian community. The five BMHS students selected to attend are: Tessa Allen, Rizza Biscocho, Marc Gehrig, Dallas Jones, and Carter London.


BMHS Junior to Attend Future Educators Academy 

Torrance, CA (May 20, 2013):
 Bishop Montgomery junior Jolene Blee '14 has been selected to attend the Hunnicutt Future Educators Academy at Arizona State University this summer. The academy, hosted by the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College at ASU, runs from June 24-28.

Three Sophomores to Attend HOBY Leadership Program

Torrance, CA (May 15, 2013):
 Three Bishop Montgomery sophomores, Jazmine Franco '15, Kira Iwai '15, and Alex Rodriguez '15 have been chosen to attend the Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership Program this year. The conference is May 31 - June 2 at California Lutheran University.

Kyle Cabahug '14 to Attend Youth Citizenship Seminar

Torrance, CA (April 23, 2013):
 Bishop Montgomery junior Kyle Cabahug '14 has been selected by Pepperdine University to attend the 36th Annual Southern California Youth Citizenship Seminar at the Malibu campus from June 17-21. Kyle will be spending an all-expenses paid week on the Malibu campus where he will be learning from an exceptional group of professors, community leaders, and public figures during leadership workshops and seminars. Kyle is one of 275 high school juniors to be selected to attend this seminar.
Kyle has been very active during his time at BMHS. He is currently the ASB Commissioner of Community Service and he is a member of the varsity baseball team.
