Boys' Basketball Wins CIF Title
On Saturday, March 1, 2008 the BMHS boys' basketball team defeated Colony High School 60-45 in the CIF Division II-AA Finals at the Honda Center in Anaheim. It was the basketball program's fifth CIF title and fourth under Coach Doug Mitchell.

1998 Alumna Finishes 3rd in 100 Meters at World Track & Field Championships
On Monday, August 27, 2007 1998 BMHS alumna Carmelita Jeter finished 3rd in the women's 100 meters at the World Track & Field Championships in Osaka, Japan. Jeter, who serves as the Head Track & Field coach at BMHS, finished in a career-best time of 11.02, only .01 seconds off the winner. The race took only eleven seconds to run, but ten minutes to decide a winner as the top five finishers were separated by only four hundreths of a second.

With her third place finish at the worlds, Jeter now ranks fifth in the world in the 100 meters.
