My name is Milana McDermott, and I have been Dean of Student Life at Bishop Montgomery since 2002. I oversee student activities, clubs, Spirit Squads, and serve as the advisor for ASB and the BMHS Chapter of the National Honor Society.

I have volunteered with student leadership programs, The Hugh O'Brien Youth Leadership Program (HOBY) and The Association of Catholic Student Councils (TACSC), and coordinate opportunities

I have established a strong relationship with Bishop Montgomery and reputable external organizations including the Hugh O’Brien Youth Leadership Program and The Association of Catholic Student Councils (TACSC), both organizations that promote values-centered leadership and social responsibility. During the past several years, our students have had the rewarding opportunity of participating in these programs, strengthening their desire to lead and to serve their communities.

Prior to coming to Bishop Montgomery, I spent twelve years as the Assistant Director for Alumni Relations at Loyola Marymount University. I was responsible for the recruitment and management of alumni volunteers for the reunion program, along with overseeing the planning of all alumni activities and programs.

I earned my BA degree in psychology from University of California, Santa Barbara and my master's degree in counseling from Loyola Marymount University.
