Thompson, Jr. Wins 2015 Wooden Award

Torrance, CA (March 24, 2015): Bishop Montgomery senior basketball standout Stephen Thompson, Jr. '15 won the 2015 John R. Wooden High School Player of the Year Award for Division IV, it was announced yesterday. Thompson is the second BMHS player in as many years to win the award. Last year, Justin Bibbins '14 won the award after helping the Knights win the Division IV State title. Bishop Montgomery players have won this prestigious award five times.

This season, Thompson, Jr. was named CIF-SS Open Division Player of the Year after averaging 24.3 points, 4.8 rebounds, 5.2 assists, and 2.6 steals per game. He scored a school-record 803 points this season and became the school's all-time career points leader with 2,246.
