Torrance, CA (December 5, 2014): Bishop Montgomery alumnus Unaloto Hamala '10, a senior at the University of San Diego, received several honors recently for his accomplishments both on the football field and in the classroom.
On Tuesday, Hamala, a linebacker, was named 1st Team All-Pioneer Football League after leading USD with 101 tackles on the season. As a captain, he helped lead USD to a 9-3 record and an appearance in the Division I playoffs (USD plays in the Football Championship Sub-Division - FCS).
On Wednesday, Hamala received recognition for his hard work in the classroom. The Business Administration major was named 2nd Team Academic All-PFL after earning a 3.39 GPA
