In Memoriam: Mrs. Virginia Schneider

Torrance, CA (November 13, 2015): On the morning of November 7, 2015, Bishop Montgomery lost a beloved member of the school community when Mrs. Virginia Schneider passed away peacefully at the age of 91.

Mrs. Schneider, along with her late husband, George, were the parents of 11 children, all of whom graduated from Bishop Montgomery. In addition to volunteering countless hours to the school, Mrs. Schneider and her husband were instrumental in the building of Bishop Montgomery High School and have remained benefactors of the school since its doors opened in 1957. In addition to the many projects and causes they have contributed to, the current retreat center on campus bears the Schneider name and they were responsible for the establishment of several scholarships that still exist today. In 2000, George and Virginia Schneider were inducted into the inaugural BMHS Hall of Fame class.

Mrs. Schneider is survived by her 11 children - Fritz '67, Joan '67, Annie '69, Katie '70, Hans '71, Chris '73, Mary '75, Joe '77, Steve '78, Hank '80, and Ginger '82 - 24 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.
