Halloween Dress-Up Guidelines

The seniors on ASB are proud to announce that our Bishop community has been granted the privilege of wearing costumes to celebrate Halloween next Friday, October 30.  We encourage all students to participate in this fun-filled event!  However, there are strict guidelines and a dress code that MUST be applied:
  • No Masks
  • Nothing bloody, sinister, or gory
  • No shorts, skirts, or dresses may be above the knee
  • Face painting is not allowed.
  • Nothing baggy or excessively tight
  • No spaghetti straps, tank tops, strapless, or halter tops. MUST be wearing a shirt.
  • No heels, sandals, or open toed shoes
  • No mock weapons
  • No cross dressing
  • Cannot show up in free dress – must alternatively be in black, orange, or Halloween spirit shirt
  • Attire MUST be Catholic School Appropriate
  • If not adhering to the dress code, must be in normal BMHS uniform
  • Handmade costumes are encouraged
  • Questions about a costume may be shown to the deans for approval, but if you are questioning whether your outfit is appropriate, better not to wear it

If students come to school not adhering to the dress code or not in normal BMHS protocol, they will be sent home with a referral, and be marked as absent for that school day.

  • Anything outside of Bishop Montgomery expectations of dress code will not be tolerated.

Reminder: this is a privilege for our student body and faculty to wear costumes. This is our opportunity as one community to demonstrate that we truly are “Socially responsible individuals who show self-discipline that is reflected in positive social behavior” (ESLRs).
