Teaching Methods
- Lectures/Demonstrations: The first part of each class will be used to highlight the important material within each unit using interactive discussions, group work, handouts, and computer demos.
- Labs: The major portion of each class is dedicated to hands-on learning, facilitated by the instructor. Students will work at their own pace during this portion of the class to solidify the lesson material or to begin work on the weekly projects.
- Projects: Each project consists of four parts: the Concepts Review, Skills Review, one Independent Challenge, and Visual Workshop from the end of the unit discussed during that section. Varied projects that correlate to the units will be assigned throughout the course.
- Quizzes: Quiz questions are pulled from the Independent Challenges at the end of each unit.
- Assignments: All class assignments and due dates are listed on the front board

- If you know you will be missing class in advance, take care of the work prior to the absence
- In the event of an unavoidable, excused absence or tardy, you will have an equal amount of time to make arrangements for making up missed work. Once that time has lapsed, you will not be able to make-up missed work. Any work missed due to an unexcused tardy or absence cannot be made up. It is your responsibility to find out what you missed.
- You must make arrangements immediately to make up any missed tests or quizzes. It is your responsibility.
- Any assignment not turned when requested is considered late. Leaving an assignment in your locker is not an excuse! Late work submitted the following day is worth half credit; after that, the work is still required but no credit will be given. If an assignment has been assigned in advance and you are absent the date it is due, the assignment will be turned in the day you return or it is considered late.
- Grades are determined by points. Parents and students will receive grade updates on a regular basis.
