Hello,
Welcome to my webpage.
Computer Applications I and Computer Applications II are the courses I teach.
This semester there are five sections of Computer Applications I.
In Computer Applications I, students will become proficient in Microsoft programs: Word and Excel. They will also work in Power Point, Print Shop and Adobe Page Maker. Students will be encouraged to use proper techniques for keyboard mastery and to use good posture while using the computer in the hope of establishing good habits and prevent repetitive motion and alignment injuries.
Grades will be calculated using the point system. Homework, quizzes, projects; and the proper use of class time are all calculated to determine students’ grades in this class. All assignments and deadline are listed on the front board.
This computer applications experience should assist them in becoming independent individuals who will have confidence to explore the new computer programs that they will encounter in the future. Students will be encouraged to organize their work, meet or beat deadlines, and walk into the classroom prepared; if they do this, they will have less stress and they will give themselves the gift of time.
In addition, students are encouraged to take advantage of charitable opportunities that arise at BMHS and we start each class with a prayer.
If you have any questions, you can e-mail me or leave a message and I will reply and/or call back that same day.
In Computer Applications II, as in Computer Apps I, time management, good posture and proper keyboarding techniques are encouraged. Students will create business cards and distribute them to adults on campus, to help advertise the fact that they are available to help faculty and staff with computer projects.
Students create a wide variety of projects such as, but not limited to: seating charts, flyers, posters, coupons, schedules, behavior charts and more. They work individually, in pairs and in groups. Once an assignment is given the student determines which program he/she should use. Some projects are so large a project manager is assigned. All projects and due dates are listed on the side board. Students will keep a record of all jobs assigned and date completed in their folder. This is a real life experience class. It is the goal that they will use the skills they learn in this class the rest of their life for work, education and home.
Students are encouraged to take advantage of charitable opportunities that arise at BMHS and we start each class with a prayer.
